Oracle cordially invites you to attend the Hackathon week we are organizing from Mon 21st to Fri 25th Oct at the Oracle premises. Microservices - also known as the microservice architecture - is gaining significant mindshare and traction in the industry today for all enterprises who wish to embrace agility and enable continuous delivery/deployment of large, complex applications and thus provide new functionality to the business without the delays and risks introduced from large monolithic releases a few times a year. Dockers and Kubernetes are key enablers of the microservices architecture style. Oracle is continuously committed to open standards among others by joining the Container Native Computing Foundation, dedicating engineering resources to the Kubernetes project, open-sourcing several container utilities and making its flagship databases and developer tools available in the Docker Store marketplace. At Oracle, we are instilling microservices characteristics among others to our core database and development platform, and we are embracing lightweight, polyglot development approaches both in our Cloud-based managed services as well as in our latest development framework for microservices on Java, Project Helidon. We believe it would be extremely interesting to touch the above as well as the latest developments in Oracle's strategy on microservice development, deployment on containers, orchestration through Kubernetes and fully covering the DevOps cycle. Thus, the objective of this meet-up is to introduce the principles of Cloud Native, Container Native, and Microservices-based development and present how Oracle delivers and continuously enriches customers' open, cloud-neutral and frictionless experience for building cloud-native as well as conventional enterprise applications.Prerequisites: Laptop. It is mandatory to bring with your laptop in order to run all the hands-on exercises and develop your own project in the last two days. Also, we encourage you to bring your application code, application module code or any part of your own code for deploying into Kubernetes and Docker environment and building your custom project.
