Powerful: Practical Machine Learning In The Hands Of The DBA/Developer
Powerful Machine Learning (ML) is now available to everyone. Over the past few years, a number of changes have occurred making this possible. As Oracle DBAs/Developers, it is now our turn to leverage ML, enabling us to do things never before possible.
But it's not that simple. There is a lot to learn. Everything from methodology to math to tools. And then the nagging question of, as a DBA/Developer is there a real application in my work?
The good news is, I have been able to leverage aspects of ML for many years. But now is the time to push all that ML has to offer into our work. And in our work, we can do things never before possible. It's taking the DBA/Developer to a whole new level.
So, in this presentation I'm going to introduce you to the world of ML from a DBA/Developer perspective. This includes understanding what ML is, why use it and why now. The ah-ha moment will occur when you learn that there are many algorithms within the ML umbrella to choose from. I'll pick two of algorithms, demonstrating how I used them to answer difficult DBA/Developer type questions. One will be at a high level and the other I'll walk you step-by-step through the process.
Now is the time for Oracle DBAs/Developers to step into the world of ML, because it is powerful, practical and enables us to do things we have never been able to do before.

The Latest and Greatest Features
Whilst most fanfare on 12.2/18c/19c is about cloud-first, sharding, and autonomous database.
There is a multitude of other enhancements that DBAs and Developers would benefit from immediately.
This session focuses on the lesser known but still critical new features and improvements in 12.2/18c and even 19c.

Python,Oracle Cloud, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency - The Perfect Combination
Python is probably the most trending programming language you can learn these days!
It's very popular because it's easy to learn and use, runs on all operating systems and allows you to build a broad variety of programs: Be that web applications, desktop applications, utility scripts or using it for data science and machine learning.
In this session, you'll learn how to use Python within Oracle Cloud - and you'll do so by going step by step in how to build your own Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. These are of course also highly trending topics and not a lot of people understand what a Blockchain really is.
A must attend sessions for any IT Professional!

Leveraging Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse for Advanced Analytic and Machine Learning
Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) provides a fully automated data warehouse specific features to deliver outstanding query performance.
As a fully managed cloud service running on high performance Oracle Infrastructure Cloud (OCI), ADW also comes Oracle advanced analytics’ data mining algorithms and a new set of tools such as Zeppelin-based SQL notebooks for predicative analytics and machine learning.
This session will examine the architecture of Oracle ADW and its collaborative environment. Then we will discuss how application developers and data scientists can leverage this environment: how import and export large set of data to/from ADW database instance, how to build, evaluate, and apply machine learning models with these data mining algorithms using SQL notebooks.
With several examples, I will share some troubleshooting experiences and tips of building such advanced analytics and Oracle machine learning applications in Oracle ADW.

Developing Microservices with .NET Core and Kubernetes
.NET Core is a popular cross-platform technology useful for developing microservices that leverage docker containers, while Kubernetes is a platform for managing containerized workloads and services that facilitates configuration and automation. In this session we will show how to get started developing microservices using .NET Core and deploy into a Kubernetes environment in the cloud using Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes. We'll point out the latest tips and tricks and also alert you to gotchas to watch out for.

18 Methods to Migrate Your Database to Oracle Cloud DBSystem
Oracle Cloud is creating its mark in the cloud market in big way and as a leader on Database Technology; Oracle has build OCI Gen2 Cloud for best performce. It is inevitable for DBAs to understand the tips and tricks of migrating workload to Oracle Cloud. In this technical presentation, lets walk through best 18 methods of migrating databases to Oracle Cloud DBSystem and Autonomous Database. How these methods are used for real customer migration, how the downtime for migration is reduced, what are the best practices and standards used for these migration. All questions related to Oracle Cloud migration would be answered in this session.
From our multiple experiences of Oracle Cloud Migrations, learning on downtime reduction, choosing appropriate method and validations would be shared.

Get your money’s worth out of your Database
The database is one of the most important assets to your application. Besides being one of the most important assets it is also one of the most expensive parts in your application. Most organizations don’t get the most out of their database license and treat it like a simple bit bucket. The modern Oracle database can do so much more than just store data.
This presentation will show these features as well as some of the enhancements in the Oracle 12c Database including:
- Identity columns (12c)
- Invisible columns (12c)
- Whitelisting PL/SQL program units (12c)
- Improvement of execution of PL/SQL in a SQL query (12c)
- Cross session Result cache (both SQL and PL/SQL) (11g)

Eliminate Application Downtime with Oracle Database and .NET
Oracle Database brings unprecedented high availability to .NET applications by eliminating major sources of end user service disruptions from planned and unplanned downtime. And it does so with few to zero changes required to the applications themselves by using Oracle's advanced Fast Application Notification infrastructure. Transparent Application Continuity enables database request replay when a recoverable error makes the database session unavailable. Transaction Guard ensures at-most-once execution in the case of database outages. Oracle planned outage capabilities ensure that end users never experience an error when a database or service is taken offline. Transparent Application Failover (TAF) automatically restores session state after a failover. This session discusses how Oracle Data Provider for .NET can use all these capabilities to make the user experience seamless during and after an outage.
