Mitigating the Top Five Cloud Security Mistakes
One of the most misunderstood aspects of the cloud is determining where the cloud service provider’s security responsibility ends, and your responsibility begins. A recent report indicates that less than half of surveyed organisations could correctly identify their IaaS security responsibilities. Join this session to learn the top five cloud security mistakes organisations make and how to mitigate them. Learn how to best prevent, detect, and respond to the top risks to your hybrid cloud environment, including misconfigurations, data loss, shadow IT, and more. We’ll also share an insider’s view of the top questions to ask your cloud service provider to best protect your organisation. ARCHITECTS AND INTEGRATORS TRACK Deploy Your Private Cloud IaaS Out-of-the-Box
A turn-key private cloud infrastructure allows for rapid scaling of compute capacity on demand, automated and quick deployments of workloads, zero downtime upgrades and support for your choice of storage. In this session Oracle joined by Revera will share how customers use Oracle Private Cloud Appliance to securely deploy and manage their mission-critical workloads. Your Journey to Cloud—Starting from Where You Are
You can't realise the benefits of the cloud without having a strategy for getting there. But you have questions: What should youput into public clouds? What about your existing on-premises implementations? How can you maximise use of both environments? Explore the different stages of the journey to the cloud and learn how to define your own roadmap. With new advances in Oracle Cloud Platform autonomous services, Oracle’s self-driving, self-securing, and self-repairing cloud platform gives you the broadest set of choices for getting to the cloud, while reducing risk, lowering costs, and accelerating your innovation. Experience the Future Now with Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud
Organisations are under tremendous pressure to lower cost, reduce risk, and accelerate innovation. In this session learn how Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud is helping customers achieve these objectives by leveraging the most valuable currency of the company: data. With its self-driving, self-repairing, and self-securing capabilities using machine leaning, all stakeholders including executives, business users, and data analysts can gain insights for smarter business decisions, and IT can deploy applications in minutes for faster innovation. Learn why Larry Ellison calls Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud "the most important thing we have done in a long time." See how it is revolutionising data management and empowering line of business, DBAs, and data scientists, to do more with data. Services covered: ADW, ATP, Autonomous NoSQL. Hyperscale and Autonomous Data Management
Relational Databases are extremely sophisticated, but their extensive functionality makes it challenging for them to achieve hyperscale. Some have turned to alternative technologies such as key value stores, which exclude most of the functionality of Relational Databases. In this session, we will discuss the different aspects of scalability and outline the key components of a truly scalable architecture. We will describe how over the last two decades Oracle has developed unique technologies and enhanced existing technologies to enable a fully functional relational database that achieves hyperscale. We will also discuss Oracle's autonomous database technology and how it will impact CIOs, developers and DBAs. How Can Business Really Use Blockchain?
One of the most misunderstood aspects of the cloud is determining where the After all of the experimentation with blockchain in the last few years, enterprises are now moving beyond proof of concept to real-world deployments. Blockchain holds the promise to fundamentally transform how business is done, making transactions more secure, transparent, and efficient. Its ability to enable smart contracts with your commercial network has the potential to significantly reduce costs and risk. Join us as we discuss the enterprise possibilities of blockchain and what’s driving the use cases, the challenges companies are working to address and what you need to do to integrate blockchain into business-critical processes. Put Power in the Hands of the Business with Analytical Data Marts
Modern businesses recognise the value of being data-driven. As a result, they need to access and analyse more data with more users than ever before, without overburdening an already strained IT department. Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, together with Oracle Autonomous Analytics Cloud, delivers a unified platform that allows any user to easily connect and explore any data from anywhere, and use powerful analytical tools to transform it into meaningful insights that drive smarter decisions and actions. A modern autonomous data warehouse drives itself, protects itself, and requires little to no human intervention, which saves cost and reduces risk while increasing productivity. Insights at the Speed of Thought with Analytics
Speed has become the basis of competing effectively. People not only want fast food, fast trades, fast cars, but also fast profits, fast platforms, fast processes, and fast analytics. Moving fast is the essence of business transformation. Faster, equals market advantage—slower, is falling behind—but speed without quality can be disastrous. With Oracle Analytics Cloud you can: SIMPLIFY your processes to save time, CONNECT and enrich all data sources to get business recommendations faster, SCALE data, content, user access, and performance from one to thousands of users. This session will provide an overview of Oracle Analytics Cloud and its benefits. Machine Learning Everywhere
Data science is the critical element in exploiting data, but several problems prevent organisations from maximising its value. Data scientists often find it hard to work efficiently, with delays in getting access to needed data and resources. Enterprise developers find it hard to incorporate machine learning models into their applications, and IT spends too much time supporting complex environments. Business users rarely are directly involved in the process and don’t have the means to build and consume their own predictive models. All of this means that business executives are not seeing the full ROI they expect from their data science and analytics investments. In this session, we will introduce some cloud based solutions designed to address these challenges. A Unified Approach to Data Processing and Analytics
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are key transformational technologies that are driving digital transformation. Data (and lots of it) is a key element that fuels machine learning. Oracle advocates the need to evolve towards a combined data management and machine learning environment that can essentially store and “think” about data. In this session, we will discuss Oracle's Unified Data Platform architecture that enables the creation of a data lake or reservoir minimising the need to move data around. The platform also provides "in-data" machine learning algorithms that allow creation of machine learning models using large and varied types of data using a strategy of “moving the algorithms to the data” rather than “moving the data to the algorithms”. Shorten Time to Value with Simplified Big Data
Data is the raw material for all analytics, from dashboard to machine learning. Organisations have struggled with monetising this data due to complexity of big data environments and the skills required to operate them. In this session, learn how Oracle Big Data Platform dramatically simplifies this process and enables you to put all of your data to productive use. You no longer have to be an expert in big data to take advantage of it. Topics covered include data ingestion, data lake management, data science and machine learning, as well as integration with other Oracle PaaS services. Penny Avril Vice President - Oracle Server Technology Division Penny Avril leads the product management for Oracle Database and works with release and development management on taking the product from design spec through development to production.
