Oracle announced availability of Oracle Database 12c in July 2013, containing many new features, and introducing a new multitenant architecture for consolidating multiple databases quickly. As well as the multitenant architecture, 12cincludes Automatic Data Optimization with Heat Map, for compressing and tiering data at a higher density, Application Continuity, a new capability which masks many outages from end users and applications and Active Data Guard Far Sync, that provides zero data loss protection for a production database by maintaining a synchronized standby database located at any distance from the primary location. These unique advancements, combined with major enhancements in availability, security, and big data support, make Oracle Database 12c the ideal platform for private and public cloud deployments. This workshop provides hands-on exercises with the 12c database, and will cover : - Multitenant Database, Multitenant Database Architecture, CDB and PDBs Administration-Create Clone Drop Rename, PDB Unplugging and Plugging a Pluggable Database, Plug non-CDB into a CDB as a PDB
- Data Redaction, enforces controls inside the database—not in the application—by redacting data before returning it to the application.
- Compression Table Compression, Index Compression
- Information Lifecyle Management Automatic data optimization, which monitors the data's age as well as its usage (or "temperature") and then automatically moves it to the appropriate storage and compression tiers.
- SQL TUNING, SQL, RMAN New Features
- Developer New Features, JSON, REST Services
- Unified Audit
Optional Exercises - Enterprise Manager Express
