Since 1985, Mr. Mark Johnson has been a leader in information technology sales and sales management with a focus on the government marketplace. As Senior Vice President for Oracle Public Sector, Mr. Johnson manages all aspects of sales and marketing of Oracle software to federal and state & local governments throughout North America. Under his leadership, Oracle Public Sector business has consistently earned recognition and awards for performance and profitability achievements.
Joining Oracle in 1989, Mr. Johnson has held a series of increasingly expanding positions, including Vice President of Civilian Sales, Group Vice President of Federal Sales and Senior Vice President of Oracle Federal Sales.
Leading Oracle Public Sector, Mr. Johnson oversees sales to U.S. federal, state & local and K-12 organizations as well as the Canadian government. Additionally, he manages Public Sector Health, Sales Consulting and Business Development, and leads Oracle's partner strategy, customer satisfaction and customer referenceability for the public sector. His responsibilities include ensuring Oracle's products meet the needs of the public sector by working closely with customer advisory boards and the company's Development organization.
Mr. Johnson received his bachelor's degree in Finance with a minor in Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has completed numerous executive leadership and sales management training programs during his career.
Mr. Johnson has three grown children and resides in Leesburg, VA. He is an avid outdoorsman and runner.

Oracle
Thomas Kurian is president of Oracle Product Development and reports to Oracle executive chairman of the board and chief technology officer Larry Ellison. He is responsible for leading Oracle's software development organization and transitioning the company's technology to Oracle Cloud. For several years, Kurian has been responsible for Oracle Server technologies and the Oracle Fusion Middleware family of products. Under his leadership, the latter business became the fastest-growing within Oracle and the industry's leading middleware product suite. Since 2008, Kurian has also led development for Oracle's family of cloud offerings, including software-as-a-service applications, platform as a service, and infrastructure as a service.
Kurian has been with Oracle since 1996, holding various product development positions. Prior to joining Oracle, he worked as a consultant in London, Brussels, and San Francisco with international management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, serving clients in the software, telecommunications, and financial services industries.
Kurian has a BS in electrical engineering from Princeton University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also has an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Kurian serves as an advisory member on the boards of several international venture funds and software companies.

Melanie Posey is Research Vice President of IDC's Hosting and Managed Network Services programs. In this position, Ms. Posey provides analysis, forecasting, and consulting on hosting, cloud, and telecom sector dynamics, service provider positioning, technological and business model innovation, and industry evolution.
Ms. Posey's involvement in the telecommunications and technology market research sector dates back to the early 1990s. She began her career at IDC in 1997 covering wide-area network services markets and went on to spearhead research in the Web hosting and telecom strategy areas before leaving IDC for a position at a consumer market research firm. Ms. Posey rejoined IDC in late 2006. Prior to IDC, she was a senior analyst at Northern Business Information/Datapro, responsible for research on global wireline and wireless equipment markets. Ms. Posey was also an analyst at the U.S. International Trade Commission where she worked on the teams that prepared the U.S. telecommunications and business services offers for multilateral trade negotiations.
Ms. Posey is a well-respected industry analyst, frequent speaker at industry and client events, and widely-quoted source in such publications as Investor's Business Daily, The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and NetworkWorld. She has won several IDC awards, including the runner-up James Peacock Memorial Award.
Ms. Posey graduated from Amherst College with a BA in French, She also holds an MA in Political Science from the University Michigan, Ann Arbor and an MA in International Relations/International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
