Database as a Service Test Drive
Oracle’s private cloud solution for Database as a Service (DBaaS) is quickly becoming the standard for agile, scalable database infrastructure, by reducing application deployment times, improving service levels and simplifying IT operations.
Join us for this event to experience key aspects of DBaaS planning, deployment, monitoring, and management. The workshop is ideal for DBAs, application developers, IT managers and anyone involved in private and hybrid cloud deployment.
The day will start with a discussion of DBaaS benefits and the architectural choices for building your enterprise cloud. Next, experience firsthand how to deploy an Oracle Database via Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Attendees will have the opportunity to define and publish standardized templates for database services, learn how to scale out and back resources, and how to test database performance when consolidating to a multitenant database. Finally, they will experience how to test database performance and manage the database lifecycle when consolidating to the cloud.
NOTE:
Participants should bring their own laptops to connect to the workshop environment. Firefox browser 3.6.12 or later is highly recommended. If using IE, participants will need administrative rights on their machines to be able to install an ActiveX control. Laptops must be able to access the internet via Oracle Wi-Fi and be configurable for SSL/VPN (instructions and a test will be provided).
