Join us for a hands-on event to experience key aspects of database deployment, monitoring, migration and management in the cloud. This test drive is ideal for DBAs, application developers, IT managers and anyone involved in public cloud deployment.
We will cover:
- Database as a Service key principles
- Using the Oracle Database Cloud Service
- Migrating databases to the cloud and back
- Cloud databases from the DBA and developer perspectives
The session will start with a discussion of DBaaS benefits and the architectural choices for building your enterprise cloud. Next, you will create a new database with Oracle Database Cloud Service and migrate an existing database to the cloud with Oracle Enterprise Manager. You will then experience how administrative tasks such as backup and recovery are simplified in a cloud environment.
NOTE: Participants should bring their own laptops to connect to the workshop environment. Laptops must be able to access the internet via Oracle Wi-Fi and be configurable for SSL/VPN (instructions and a test will be provided)
