NetBeans IDE: Your Ladder Into The Cloud
The Cloud is everywhere, but how do you get into it? Java developers everywhere are being told every day that the Cloud is important and that "everything is moving to the Cloud". What does that mean? In this interactive workshop, you will see many demos -- with code -- and very few slides, and a lot of discussion, to introduce you to many new and exciting tools and technologies integrated into NetBeans that help you climb into the Cloud. For example, you will learn and discuss about version control systems in the Cloud, continuous build servers in the Cloud, and deployment of applications into the Cloud. And what about developing applications in the Cloud? What does that mean, does it make sense, and what can tools do for you to help you there? Let's discuss! In this session, the focus is on Java developers, or any other kind of developers, who are interested in discussing what the Cloud can mean for them.

Sessie 1: Docker for Developers (11:15 - 12:15)
Docker is een containerplatform waarmee je heel gemakkelijk applicaties kunt deployen en draaien. Het is een echte hype en er zijn veel mensen mee aan het experimenteren. Wij gaan hier een stap verder in en laten zien hoe het Docker ecosysteem het werk van een Java developer gaat veranderen. Met live demo’s wordt gedemonstreerd hoe je een Java webapplicatie kunt opnemen in de Docker container en deze aan integratietesten kunt onderwerpen. Ook lichten we met Docker Compose toe, hoe je als developer, een systeem end-to-end kan testen.

Sessie 2: Pushing the limits of Continuous Delivery (13:10 - 14:05)
Containers, cloud platformen, service discovery en continuous delivery zijn technologieën die zich momenteel razendsnel ontwikkelen. We passen allemaal al jaren continuous integration gecombineerd met unittesten toe in onze projecten. In deze sessie geeft Quintor haar visie hoe we continuous integration de komende jaren zien evolueren naar een continuous delivery omgeving op webscale formaat, gebruik makend van technologieën zoals Docker, Mesos, Marathon en Consul. We gaan met live coding en demo’s laten zien hoe je me de nieuwe tools van vandaag de dag een samenwerkende continuous delivery oplossing kunt maken.

In deze interactieve meeting zullen Experts op het gebied van Apex thema’s bespreken die van belang zijn voor Apex development voor de Cloud. Ieder thema wordt geïntroduceerd door deze experts inclusief live demo’s. Voorbeelden van thema’s die aan de orde komen zijn:

• Het verschil tussen Database Schema Cloud en Database As A Service.
• Beperkingen bij het werken in de Cloud.
• Upgrading van Apex versie.
• Etc.

De invulling van de thema’s is vrij en zal tijdens de sessie verder vormgegeven worden. Het succes van de meeting is afhankelijk van uw eigen inbreng. Continuous Delivery and Oracle Private Cloud
This case describes how a major Telecom organization in The Netherlands leverages the combination of Continuous Delivery, XebiaLabs products and Oracle Private Cloud (Exalogic) to accelerate development for their on-line commercial web-shops for the Dutch consumer market. The aligned introduction of Agile way of Working with the implementation of the Highway for Applications (Continuous Delivery) and Datacenter Automation helped the customer to reduce production release cycles from up to 9 months to 2 weeks (every sprint), reduce operations from 21 to 9 FTE and regain full control of their ability to react on the volatile on-line consumer business in days. The presentation is technical in nature and will illustrate the implementation and technical architecture and major benefits of the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and Datacenter Automation solution.
