Telecom Meets Cloud: A Dynamic Convergence
As the telecom industry enters the era of virtual networks, it’s not enough to have functional network elements in place. Service providers must also consider how best to service these virtual networks.
At the corner of Telecom and IT sits Oracle Communications, perfectly positioned to bring service providers a world class virtualized network.
The telecom Industry has been on a journey for many years. Today:
Computing is more powerful, more open, interoperable and cost effective.
Cloud is disruptive to the competitive environment; network-based computing a reality.
Mobility is ubiquitous; accessing information anywhere at any time has become expected.
Virtualization is transformative, changing the scale and economics of the technology landscape.
Communications is now Software. We're at an important milestone in which the very core fabric of Communications – The Network is being defined and driven by Software
.
This session will discuss how application orchestration of virtualized LTE core signaling elements establishes a strong foundation for a variety of highly-scalable LTE services. Further, we’ll discuss the important factors in network and service orchestration including reliability, flexibility, scalability, automation and maintainability
Speaker: Jason Emery

Implications of NFV in Transforming your Business
Just as Cloud has transformed IT, the communications industry is embarking on a similar journey to transform the network by virtualizing the network functions. Utilizing computing technology that has become increasingly more open, interoperable and cost effective, virtualization is changing the scale and economics of the network topology, moving the network to a dynamic, agile, extension of business requirements.
Is this really a network transformation or a business transformation?
How can IT Cloud concepts be best applied to NFV?
Can virtualized systems offer the same level of performance as today’s network functions?
Speaker: Doug Suriano
, Senior Vice President and General Manager,

VoLTE Track
The Evolution of the Communications Application Server
In 2010 a global baseline for Voice over LTE (VoLTE) was stabilized, but it was not till 2014 that major VoLTE launches started to take place. During this period of delay, the emergence of Network Function Virtualization (NFV) also became a reality that enables service providers to realize the innovation and cost curves enjoyed by the IT community. The application server is the foundation for a successful IP communications strategy – now service providers that have delayed launching VoLTE are at an advantage because they can invest in a new breed of evolved communications application server which is built from the ground-up to support NFV and innovation in differentiated HD voice and multimedia video services.
The pivotal role of the application server for delivering a successful IP communications strategy
Independent innovation by extending out of the box IR.92/64/94 applications without coding or reliance on vendor customizations
Service agility that automates new service rollout across testing, staging and production VNFs
