MC : Aki Anastasiou
Aki’s great passion is technology and he presents technology and gadget driven features on 702 and Cape Talk. He also hosts a weekly technology show called Tech Busters on CNBC Africa where he is a regular technology commentator.
His corporate talk, "Disruptions' illustrates how, because technology is evolving at such a blistering pace, that businesses are struggling to keep up with this tsunami of change and he explores these challenges by making sense of the technologies hurtling towards us.
Technology doesn't happen to us, it happens because of us is another popular presentation where Aki at the human behavioural changes that technology brings and how the change is driven by human influence.
The impact will be vast! Are businesses ready for the challenges that artificial intelligence will bring?
We are moving towards a society that will be automated by robotics and humans will be replaced by technology. What will be the impact to humanity be in the coming decades?
Social Media, Big Data, Cloud Computing and Mobility are the massive forces driving this technological metamorphosis and making sense of it - and the sheer volume of data we all live with - demands a new approach.
One of the first South African personalities to use Twitter, Aki continues to lead in this field and is consistently ranked as one of the most influential Twitter users in various polls and publications including mainstream magazine, Cosmopolitan, which named him one of their Twitter Kings.
Aki also consults and engages with companies and individuals on their social media strategies and the Consumer Electronics Expo in Las Vegas and the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona are two of the many international conferences he attends to stay ahead of trends and to identify future trends.
His outgoing personality enables Aki to wind-up crowd of up to 50 000 people - for five hours straight - as he does each year at the start of the Discovery 702 'Walk the Talk'.
Jamie Whittaker
CIO for Marketing and Distribution and Head of Digital at Discovery Limited
Jamie Whittaker is the CIO for Marketing and Distribution and the Head of Digital Development and Design at Discovery. Heading up the Channel Application team he is responsible for a number of systems and applications that manage the interactions between Discovery and its external communities.
Before joining Discovery, Jamie worked across the EMEA region for Johnson & Johnson Consumer. He cut his teeth on any and all projects that came his way during the .com bubble, working as general lackey and web monkey for a number of successful and not so successful dotcoms.
His background is primarily in the design, user champion and web development space. He describes himself as a "part-time thinker, full-time enthusiast, herder of cats" and truly believes that a sense of humour and enthusiasm are the very best assets to own. @whittex

Michael Timpanaro-Perrotta
Senior Director, Product strategy, Oracle
Michael Timpanaro-Perrotta is the Senior Director of Product Management for the Private Database Cloud architecture team in the Database development organization. Mr. Timpanaro-Perrotta prior position at Oracle was as Director of Product Management for the Automatic Storage Management feature. Prior to joining Oracle, Mr. Timpanaro-Perrotta served as Director Services development at Symantec, and Senior Director of Product Management for the Storage Foundation product line at VERITAS software. Mr. Timpanaro-Perrotta also worked at IBM for a number of years, where he held a variety of different positions technical and management positions in software engineering, hardware engineering, technical field support, product management, business development, strategic customer accounts and storage architecture. Mr. Timpanaro-Perrotta is the author/co-author on eleven US patents. Mr. Timpanaro-Perrotta holds a B.A. in Mathematics/Computer Science from San Jose State University.
Andre Joseph
Technology Solution Consultant, Oracle South Africa
Andre has lectured on Oracle DBA technologies for the past 10 years and is currently the Technology Solution Consultant specializing in Oracle Security, especially database and IDM security for South Africa.
