Doug Hughes
Vice President – Applications Product Management for Japan and Asia Pacific

Doug is responsible for all Applications interactions between the Japan and Asia Pacific Field organizations and Development. Tasks undertaken by the Product Management group include such diverse responsibilities as Product demonstrations, Applications Architecture definitions, Field Readiness for all staff and Partners for Fusion Applications, recruitment and direction of all Fusion Early Adopters, Country and Industry specific localisations to products, and customer escalations. Doug is also a member of the Asia Pacific Applications Senior Management Team and is a member of the Global Fusion Applications Board. He maintains regular contact with a select group of customers as Executive Sponsor across Asia Pacific.

Doug joined Oracle in 2001, as Director – CRM Initiatives. As Director – CRM Initiatives, Doug formed a group of specialists across Asia Pacific that leveraged his skills in CRM operations in call centre environments, Return on Investment decisions, and the true holistic approach to customer management in a diverse range of industries. This group worked with customers to build business capability in CRM. Doug has also held the position of Director – Industry Initiatives that focused on rapid implementation technologies such as Oracle Accelerators. Doug trained Oracle consultants and partners alike across Asia Pacific in this methodology, and large scale Program Management. Doug has run the cross Line of Business engagements for very large customers such as Qantas Airways during his career in Oracle. More recently, Doug ran Oracle Consulting Services CRM Practices across Asia Pacific following the Siebel acquisition from the Singapore office, and then took over as Vice President - Oracle Customer Services for Australia New Zealand running the Support Services operations, and has just transferred from Vice President – Applications Sales Consulting for APAC where he was responsible for all Pre Sales personnel in the Applications arena within Oracle across Asia Pacific covering over 4000 products and 300 personnel.

Prior to his tenure at Oracle, he held the roles of General Manager – MILIS Alliance at Mincom Pty Ltd, Vice President – Business and Technology Services at UCMS Pty Ltd, Projects Director at Intergraph Public Safety Pty Ltd, AP-3C Project Manager at Rockwell Corporation, and Region 3 Manager at Osborne Computers.

Doug holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Aeronautical Engineering from RMIT, a PostGraduate Diploma in Management, a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University, a Master of International Trade and Commercial Law from Deakin University, and is currently progressing towards a Doctorate in Project Management from RMIT. Doug is also a Director of Sun Run Pty Ltd, as well as a member of the Project Management Institute, and the Australian Institute of Project Management.
