Discussion topics 1. Turn insight into impact, beyond the architecture paradigm
Effective change is becoming increasingly important for organizations. Architecture plays a crucial role in this game of change. Research shows that architecture is able to provide good insight, but also shows that using this insight to achieve your business goals is a very different story. The question that arises is: what – and moreover who – is required to turn this into business results?
2. The architect outlawed
Many organisations have created stovepipe information systems that function well as independent entities but don't work together in a cohesive way. The business wants to accelerate the adoption of new functionality and release cycles. As a result, there is little attention to architecture of the landscape resulting in enforcing the stovepipe approach. The architects have been sidelined, while the focus of the agile teams is limited. Architecture seems outlawed. At the same time, It requires a lot of the architects to remain on their feet in this area of tension. How do you approach this area?
3. Architecture the Security capabilities
Empowering individuals to maintain control over their personally identifiable information
has not become merely a well-intentioned idea, with little hope of becoming a reality.
Despite the increasing challenges brought about by the convergence of social, mobile
and cloud computing, privacy is not only an achievable task but, as we will outline, a
highly desirable one for organizations in maintaining the trust and confidence of their
customers.
Security measures are applied appropriately if security is considered from the very
beginning of the design, already in the architectural phase.
